I had an incredible experience selling my car to Clutch. I managed to do the entire process in just one day! After entering my details online, I got a quote and booked an appointment for the same day. The team followed up with a call to walk me through exactly what to expect. The facility itself was impressive—very clean with a modern, open-concept design. They even offered snacks, coffee, and tea while we waited. A huge shoutout to Ralph, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and kind. He took the time to explain every step of the process clearly and made us feel right at home. Before coming here, I shopped around at other dealerships. They offered me less than market value, slow to respond, and kept trying to haggle me down with the typical 'let me talk to my manager' back-and-forth. Clutch was the total opposite. Professional, fast, and fair. Highly recommend!
Overall, it was a great car and a generally positive experience with Clutch. I opted for the basic package and paid for it the previous night. However, the next morning I received a call at 9:15 AM saying that the cheque had to be received by 10:00 AM or the order would be cancelled. This requirement was not clearly mentioned when choosing the basic package, and it created unnecessary stress. I had to take the day off work, rush to the bank in an Uber, and arrange the cheque immediately to avoid losing the order. While the vehicle and overall service were good, it would be much better if payment deadlines and cheque requirements were communicated clearly upfront so customers can plan accordingly.

I wanted to share my experience purchasing a vehicle through Clutch so others can make an informed decision. Over the course of two consecutive weeks, I experienced significant issues with two different vehicles. The first vehicle (2018 Honda CR-V) had multiple engine light issues shortly after day one. After switching vehicles, the second one (a 2023 Mazda CX-5) would not even start when I went to pick it up. This resulted in multiple disruptions, additional coordination, and repeated administrative steps. Because I am based in Kitchener, I had to travel to Mississauga twice, which involved taking time off work, transportation costs, banking visits for drafts, insurance setup and cancellation adjustments, and overall logistical inconvenience. Although the Clutch administrative team was generous in approving reimbursement for the expenses incurred due to these two trips and offered free home delivery, the process itself required considerable back-and-forth communication. Following two back-to-back vehicle issues, I requested additional coverage for reassurance, but this was declined. Without that added protection, I did not feel comfortable continuing with the purchase. Where I believe Clutch needs improvement: • Stronger pre-delivery inspection and quality control before vehicles are released • Clearer accountability for issues occurring shortly after handoff (especially within the 10-day return window) • More flexible customer support solutions when multiple problems arise within a short period • Better coordination to minimize repeated customer travel and administrative effort The concept of online vehicle purchasing is convenient, and the team members I interacted with were professional. However, when problems occur early in the process, the resolution structure and customer confidence become critical. I hope Clutch continues refining its quality control and post-sale support systems to provide a smoother and more confidence-driven experience for future buyers.
